Latvian mre review

I recieved two of these the other day and I was so excited I had bust one of these open and try it right away. Unfortunately I neglected to take pictures other then one of the overall contents. Judging by the contents this most likely is a breakfast ration. Size wise it is about 2/3 the size of a US mre.
The main dish was smoked pork with beans. It very dry and dense, however taste wise it was delicious with good size chunks of ham. It reminded me of a soup my mom made with leftover ham from holiday meals. I decided to let my son try a bite and stepped out of the kitchen and when I came back found my son ate half the can, so he really liked it.
It came with 4 packets of Nescafe coffee and 1 pack of Lipton citrus tea with 2 decent packs of sugar. I have not tried either yet.
The side dish was rice with strawberries. It was dried rice with a couple small bits of dried strawberries reconstituted in hot water. It tasted kind of funky like the rice was old.
The cashews were softer then the ones I get here and they taste well like cashews. The candies were unusual, I could only identify a slight menthol flaver.
Unfortunately the apricot jam sprung a leak so I was unable to try that one. The other one was I think raspberry. I like the bread, it contained 2 pieces fused together. They were dense and hearty with a slight flavor of rye. It reminded me texture and taste of the canned brown bread you can find here in the states.
Lastly the ration heater, I liked it as it is made out of thick metal so it is reusable many times. The fuel tablets came in a ziploc bag with the metal heater. Two of the 4 tablets were broken.
All in all I enjoyed this ration and look forward to the next one!

Tis bread is unique, because these are slices from a normal bread loaf you can buy in shop there (latvia and Lithuania). I guess, maybe they added some preservatives, but the taste is unchanged
Have access to: Polish, French, UK, US, sometimes other.
Interested in:New Zealand, Jordan, Israel, any South America

The Lithuanian rations are good, they look small but are quite satisfying. I have gotten 2 in the week before last and 4 more inbound this week.
