Re: Ration d'urgence
It's like a little energy supplement pack really.
I think i have one somewhere but I'd forgotten about it.
I like those little barre commando bars, they come in the french RCIRs

Re: Ration d'urgence
I bought two of those, ate one for fun and i forget where the other one went. The commando bars can last for 20 years if stored properly. RC Gusto gave me a French Ration with a 1999 DoP and it's commando bars held up quite nicely.
The energy gel is interesting and innovative. The mint isotonic was chalky, minty, yet incredibly rejuvinating with it's high electrolyte content.
I would say if stored properly & with no punctures to components like the energy gel, this ration has a shelf life comparable to the U.S. Food Packet Survival General Purpose (modern).

This pack had a best before of 2014 and the commando bars were just fine though through my fault as well as pointy pocket objects the gel leaked. And input is always welcome steve

These would be nice to have and "eat for fun" as steve1989 noted... these would be perfect in my range bag... will look around and see if I can pick up a few.
