Production (actually packaging) of these rations started in 2016 - they are in early stage - still testing the market. The same company produces also 24h ration for a longer time. I have one of theirs "specnaz" style 24h, still waiting to be reviewed - Scotsman1984 did it.
This is a single meal ration with potato stew with beef as the main dish.
the whole content:
- potato stew
- pork/beef pate with green vegetables
- crackers
- apple sauce
- fruit candies
- chewing gum
- portable stove with windproof matches
- sugar
- coffee
- salt and pepper
- apple-berry drink concentrate
- milk-vanilla drink
- moist towlette
- spoon
- napkins
The crackers have the same name (Armejskie galety) as the ones in 24 h military ration, but the producer is different, there are also 6 instead of 8.
They are worse in my opinion- really dry and hard (of course not as hard as Polish - Russian are thinner).
The pate is interesting-contains pork and beef and pork brains, also dill and parsley leaves, quite tasty.
The apple sauce is one of the best jam type products in the rations, sweet but with really concentrated fruit taste.
The entree was heated on the stove with one fuel tablet. These matches are incredible - there was no problem to light the tablet with just one.
The potatoes and meat (one chunk) are tender, salty enough, I used all the black pepper to spice it up. Maybe not the best dish I've ever had but kind of home cooking, not artificial.
This is only 250g, more than the US entrees , but less than Polish.
The fruit drink was strange - too sweet, with fruity taste, but a bit undefinite, I couldn't taste apples despite the apple powder. The milk drink was very good - just sweet , hot milk. First I wanted to add this to the coffee, but it was so tasty, that I forgot and drank all
The coffee is a standard instant coffee - let's say - "OK".
The candy had interesting name and picture and I thought it contains barberry - as a vitamin C source. The ingredients are not listed on the cover, so I don't know. The taste not very exciting - just standard hard candy -sweet, little sour. The gum was excellent, very refreshing
