Most of the ration is produced in New Zealand, the rest in Australia, one item in US.
It has no division between meals, there are 2 entrees (or maybe 2,5). For the breakfast I had: curry noodles, biscuits, chocolate, coffee, marmelade, yeast extract and fruit cake
There are a lot of tubes in the ration. The citrus marmalade was tasty and the yeast extract... you know - you either love it or hate it... I was afraid to taste it but for me it turned out to be loved

The noodles were nothing special, not very spicy just normal cheap type.. The chocolate contains only 20% cocoa, so not the best in my opinion, the cake was kind of spicy one-gingerbread like. Quite wet and soft and tasty.
The biscuits were ok, but the sweet ones would match the breakfast better. Due to foil bag as a package and a very tight placement both of the crackers were almost powdered...
For lunch I got: beef and gravy, pea soup with ham, chocolate drink, cereal bar-apricot,,coffee, lifesavers candies The soup was thick and really tasty as for instant soup, probably the best one from the rations so far. The beef stew was excellent – big chunks of meat in thick gravy, which can make by long cooking – tasted like home made or from a restaurant. No need for seasoning. The cereal bar is made according to a different concept from the US or European – cereals are not mixed with fruits, but it is a kind of cake qith fruit filling, anyway really tasty The rest of the lunch was not so good- the chocolate drink was too “thin” in taste for me and the lifesavers… hmm… you can crunch it, but they had an undefined taste-strange.
I decided to make another “snack dish”,because there were so many thing in the package.. – candy chocolates, energy drink and peppered steak bar. The candies are M&M type – quite good, but on the edge of expiry. The sports drink is sweeter than the US ones, but not too sweet. There is a hug amount in 1 bag – for 1 liter of water. The steak bar was really tasty, little spicy and soft (made from grind beef). It contained sugar, which could be omitted for my taste.
The dinner was made of: chicken italiano, biscuits, pears in syrup, chocolate spread, processed cheddar and tea (plus spices, sugar, gum etc).
The entrée was almost so good as the lunch. Real tomato chunks, Italian spices, I added only a bit of salt. The cheese was normal processed cheddar – decent. The pears had a good sweetness level and a nice consistency (not too soft). The sweet biscuits were best with the chocolate spread , which contained a solid amount of cocoa (actually better than the chocolate).
The ration has also an interesting accessories :
- A plastic cylinder with 2 types of matches (regular and windproof)
- A sponge with cleaning agent – for cleaning your messkit
- FRED – can opener and spoon, which turned out to be very sharp and efficient
- Some rubber bands
This was an interesting ration, very rich and the entrees were of top quality – for me even better than the French ones. If you will have an opportunity to try – highly recommended
