Canadian #6 2010 Meatballs

Post by housil » Fri Aug 19, 2016 4:35 pm

Today for dinner something special, a 2010 Canadian IMP #6
CMB1.jpg
opened
CMB2.jpg
and spread out on the counter
CMB3.jpg
I started with the soup
CMB4.jpg
on a plate for better display, not in a cup/mug
CMB5.jpg
175ml of boiling water. As much as I like the idea of a soup, to me it´s impractical to boil water just to get a soup...
CMB6.jpg
the soup was "OK", not very salty but just "OK".

the entree
CMB7.jpg
the pouch to heat in hot water
CMB7b.jpg
I was too curious about this
CMB8.jpg
open the sachet and pour boiling water in up to the filling line. Stir...
CMB9.jpg
Taraaaa...
CMB10.jpg
The meatball and the mashed potatoes on the plate
CMB11.jpg
The mashed potatoes was great, just add a dash of salt. Why does the instruction recommend to add tea?!?! The mashed potatoes had a slightly "sweet" taste I really liked!
Too bad that filling line was way to less water, note there is still powder.

The meatballs were great in texture and taste!
CMB12.jpg
It was too much food to me, I didn´t finish my plate

Dessert was a "date square" (i had to google for)
CMB13.jpg
Ah, I see. It´s a (very "fat") cake
CMB14.jpg
I don´t know how the home made version suppose to taste like
CMB15.jpg
but that one was "rich" but didn´t had a specific taste. :|

That gravy/sauce looks pretty good.

Did this ration have any powder drink mixes in it?

Delicious looking ration! I wish american MREs had watermelon drink mixes too.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

Good review Housil, thanks for sharing! :) It looks really good. I wouldnt care much for the watermelon drink, but the rest of the ration would make up for it.

The main dish looks veeery appetizing ! I haven't tried the Canadian yet.
BTW - they don't want you to add tea to the potatoes
It's about adding "tea or coffee creamer" (a versatile creamer which you can use for tea or coffee) instead of cream...
Have access to: Polish, French, UK, US, sometimes other.
Interested in:New Zealand, Jordan, Israel, any South America
