German ePA Typ II - Final 2 Meals

Post by parafireboy » Tue Aug 02, 2016 12:24 am

Today I finished off the German ePA Typ II. Since I'm not doing any strenuous activity out here, I was able to stretch the ration out over about four meals and still have plenty to eat and not be hungry. In the interest of full disclosure, I did have a little supplemental ration with breakfast in the form of a freshly baked huckleberry pastry.

Today for breakfast I had some more of the great bread, this time with the berry jam, as well as some keks with apricot jam and berry spread. I also had the coffee extract. The bread went very well with the berry jam, and the sweetness of the keks really lent itself to the apricot spread. The coffee was good and not bitter. To me, it tasted very similar to the US coffee. The berry jam and the apricot jam were very different consistencies. The berry jam was a little bit runny, whereas the apricot one was not. The flavor was excellent with both of them though.

For lunch today I had the beef pate on the bread, as well as a slice of bread with the spread. I also finished off the remaining keks. I also had the chocolate as a desert, followed by some of the xylitol gum. For a beverage I enjoyed the last grapefruit beverage mix. The pate was a course pate, and was very good, especially with the bread! The chocolate was a very pleasant tasting dark chocolate.

I found a handy use for the bread container after the bread is gone, since it has a re-sealable lid. I used it to hold wild huckleberries that I picked!

That concludes my first ePA, to which I give two thumbs up for a great quality ration!

Thanks for sharing, actually this is the right way to do this-stretched over time, using as the base food. Nice berries, I have never seen them in Europe
Have access to: Polish, French, UK, US, sometimes other.
Interested in:New Zealand, Jordan, Israel, any South America

Very nice review...I've not had one of these ePA's yet, but hopefully I can get one soon. Maybe at the Doswell meet-up? That blackbread in a tin looks very interesting and tasty...
it is what it is....

Excellent review! I really like these German rations too, in fact these may be my No. 2 go to ration (right behind the UK ORP). I also like the fact that the Germans added a bunch of other menu's too! I want to buy a full case of these for sure.

It definitely lasted a long time. I had brought other rations to eat and review and never even got around to them since the ePA kept me fed for so long :)

Great way to review the ration. I really enjoyed it. I have been debating which ration to review next. Guess it will be an EPA.
