Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
This is my first review so I hope you enjoy. I found out that Wal-Mart carries the Bridgford shelf stable sandwiches that are in the FSR packs and thought I would try them out 8nstead of cracking open the FSRs I have. They are $4.97 for a pack with 2 sandwiches. A little high but worth a try. Sorry for bad pics, I was in my truck when I took the sandwich pics and the light was bad.
Standard packaging
Comes in MRE packaging inside the civilian outer bag
Same look, smell and size as the FSR sandwich
The inside revealed a decent amount of beef which tasted like Manwich. Bread was standard MRE style bread.
Overall it was tasty and have a minimum 3 year shelf life. For $4.97 I can think of other things to stock up on but it was worth a taste plus I can save my FSRs for a later date. Hope this wasn't too bad.

Great find, thanks for sharing!
Re: Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
cool where abouts in the store did you find them?
Re: Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
They are in the camping section. If you have the Wal-Mart app on your phone you can type in Bridgford and see what local stores carry them. Not all do. They carry the French toast as well as other sandwiches.

Looks like this one has trans-fat in it. Bridgford is supposed to be removing the TF from most its offerings though!
Re: Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
Looks like the early first strike ration bridge ford sandwiches
Re: Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
I have used them on the trail
They are nice to have when you go on a hike. If you have a fruit bar and a powdered drink it is a fairly good lunch.
Compact , clean, easy to eat with one hand and I thought the BBQ flavor was not that bad

Re: Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
They are not bad, and I only tried the BBQ, but I found them a bit heavy on the "bread" and awfully light on filling. I think they could double up on that and it would be pretty good. Same failing that I find with a Pop-Tart...
I'd rather take a standard wheat bread and a SPAM single. {Spam on a Shingle!]
Idea: you can get those double stuff Oreos... Why not double stuff Pop-Tarts?

Looks like a long lasting hot pocket.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

Re: Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwich
I have found all of the variations that I've tried to be pretty tasty. But, like a Hot Pocket, they are all really skimpy on filling. For that reason I pass on buying them in-store, but I'm still happy to see one in an MRE.
