Heater Meals "Zesty BBQ Sauce & Potatoes w/ Beef"

Yesterday I was going through my stacking and decided for this:

D´oh...

Note the tiny M&Ms :D

For the first time, I saw the entree in a pouch not in a plastic "cup"

First impression and smell - OK.

After heating up on a plate for better display:

I sprinkled some of these over the entree

Although expired for 5 years, the entree was great as expected! It was a "thick" sauce with a nice, "sweet" taste of BBQ sauce (lucky me, I don´t like hot/spicy  ) That "fancy fruit mix" was *very* sweet and I liked it.

Interesting I have never seen that brand of meal for sale in US camping stores. It looks like a great product for hikers.
It looks like a BBQ flavored version of Dinty Moore beef stew.

Did you take a look at their page?

http://heatermeals.com/

This is the company, that developed the flameless ration heater.

I still have several of those from the ones we received after the May 2013 tornado in Moore, OK.
They gave us cases of them and cases of MRE's ( 2010 menus) and plenty of water.

I will take a look at their web site. Always looking for options when I go hiking.
As long as we have hot coffee or tea made with a 'real' flame I am happy. :D
Then we can eat food cooked by 'other' methods

Norton: You can find those meals at places like BassPro. Although the ones I have seen there, only contain the entree.

Never seen one with sides or candy either.
I liked the one I did pop, and I have a couple included in my storage.
