MRE's are meant to live a long time, but what about other food stuffs?

Today we look at Bisquick Complete Mix, Three-Cheese Biscuits: Vintage Pre 2004

Back of package

If we estimate one year shelf life, this mix is 9 years old. Better if used by January 17, 2004

What is the usual shelf life of something like this?
Inside looked fine and smelled of cheese, powdered cheddar cheese.
DSCN1993.JPG
The smell was similar to whats in the instant macaroni and cheese that you add water to and microwave
Everything mixed well and i cooked as close to the directions as possible.

I had a hard time eating these.
-The flavor was a very pungent cheese like flavor
-The texture was quite dense.

But they were Not spoiled in any way at all, a little butter helped but it just wasn't to my liking flavor wise.

For biscuit mix that expired 8 years ago it held up like a champ.

Good posting NNF! Those biscuits actually look delicious :D ! I think so long as the box is not exposed to moisture or damaged in such a way that tiny critters can get in, the preservatives and other additives should keep it safe to consume for quite a while.
