Civilan Heater Meals Europa

Post by housil » Sat Nov 15, 2008 8:14 am

I got something new today... :D

Civilian Heater Meal:

Seems like (just) a regular UK brit rat pack entree Chicken & Herb Dumplings with a FRH, same as in genuine US Heater Meals.

German/French

Quick Cuisine
It´s a canned entree in a box with a heater allready inside. Crack it to warm it up.

I got them (for just €20 w/ s&h) to give them a try and let you folks now...

the quick cuisine are not very different to the french RCIR main meals. just the self heating system is cool with it. but its very unhandy to transport when you are "on the move"

the "hunger breaks" are just a english "spartan" version of the original US heatermeals with just the mainmeal, heaterand the water. the mainmeal is is the same as used in the british ration packs.

my advice: stay with combat rations

I will!! But for €20 for all 5 inkl. s&h I couldn´t withstand
I´ll take them at work with me and give them a try. My coworkes are really "concerned" I´m taking pictures before eating my food...

Those meals look pretty cool, housil. I can't wait to see the reviews!

Sorry for delayed review, but today was for some reason a good opportunity...

I took:

as the Beef Bourgond roast seems the most delicious to me

Turn up side down to activate the inside FRH system:

Remove top cover and wait until the can is heated

We waited...
and waited...
and waited...

but after ~10 min, as cold as before

I removed the box around. The can was hot glued inside the box, no way to come to the heater.

So I opend the can

and nuked it on a plate in the microwave

Whole potatoes, big carrot slices :D BUT the beef was just average can beef, the sauce taste like pale water with brown spots. A disappointment to me, nothing worthy to pay ~€4!

Housil,

You mean after 10 mintues of waiting nothing happened? Not even the meal was warm? I'd say to maybe try another meal and see if this happens again, that way you can make a conculsion that one heater is just defective. That is a mystery that the can is hot glued to the box, :?

I have three more to give a try, but I know that jubifahrers also didn´t got "real" warm. Just a little bit of lukewarm :(
