Interesting civilian MRE

I just ran across this picture in flickr - it's a pic of three MREs picked up from a distribution point for hurricane relief:
Check out that center MRE. It looks like a Sopakco Sure-Pak 12 civilian MRE but notice how they're using that commercial retort pouch instead of the usual entree.

It even has the same logo on the upper left. I thought that was only on official military?

No, the Sopakco civilian MREs have always had the soldier and rifle logo on them. The main difference is that the military MREs say "Meal, Ready-to-Eat, Individual" whereas the civilian version just says "Meal, Individual" and has the clear bag.

Might be interesting to find out the contents? At least what SPOPACK puts in theirs?

I suppose they must have a shortage of generic retort pouches?
