Finally a good one!
This is a 1989 Mountain House Beef Bourguignon and Noodles. I was unsure of this when I got it because it was not vacuum sealed and the package was starting to delaminate. I contacted Mountain House and they told me that it was not produced vacuum sealed. When I opened the outer package it had the classic stale smell but once I added the water that stale smell went away and the FANTASTIC smell of Beef, pasta and spices. Couldn’t wait for it to reconstitute. It was VERY good. The beef had a nice firmness, the noodles were soft but not mushy and the sauce was light and flavorful with a small hint of wine. I could see carrots and tiny pieces of onion but no sign of mushrooms. I ended up adding all 12oz of recommend water, and it was the perfect amount. I want to tell you I ate it all, but I did not. It made a HUGE pile of food.
Thanks for looking.
