Going back in time a little with this one. We are checking out a Mil-Spec Ration from 1999. These commercial rations were produced by the Wornick company prior to their current Eversafe meal. For a civilian Meal, Ready-To-Eat I was pretty impressed. It was so amazingly fresh I had a hard time believing it's already more than 20 years old. I could imagine a prepper getting ready for Y2K with a few cases of these MRE's. The food itself was outstanding, although the size of the meal is a bit smaller than it's military counterpart. The chocolate covered oatmeal cookie was an unexpected surprise. Is it the best Civilian Ration? Well I don't know about that but it is at least as good as anything out there today.
