2019 Milspec MRE Chicken and Rice Review

Post by ToddRvs » Fri Feb 21, 2020 12:40 pm

Just reviewed this mre on my youtube channel.

This MRE is almost an exact duplicate to the first generation early eighties U.S. Military MRE. This meal even included the old school Chocolate covered Oatmeal Cookie

Check it out and let me know what you think.

These are actually from 1999, not 2019. Good review though, thanks for sharing!

Yes Smitty was kind enough to point that out to me on my youtube page.

I had the dates wrong, Note to self "date codes can be deceiving" LOL

I have to say for a ration that is 20 years old everything was fresh as the day it was made. These must of been stored correctly.

I bought the box of a seller on ebay.. I think I paid right at 80 dollars including shipping for the box of 12.

If any one would like me to send them one PM with an address and I will send one out to you to try.

Thanks

I am glad I was able to make you laugh... I have to say it is quite embarrassing for me though to make such a mistake with the date. Looks like I have much to learn about these MRE's and doing reviews..

Thanks for the feedback.

It's all good. I had thought they were 2009s at first. Mine were absolutely cooked though. Completely inedible, even the crackers. Good to see a surviving one.
All the best, Gents.

Legions of people have made the same mistake. It's a problem, the 4 digit code sucks. Going to the 5 digit format will really help.

That yours tasted so good is a testament to how well that case was stored. Sampling and reviewing old rations is far more interesting to me anyways. You scored a case that's honestly more valuable than current. Nice review!
