I finally got around to making a video out of this, it's down below in the thread. It's not in English but i made subtitles if anyone is interested.

I just enjoyed one of the best tasting rations I have ever tried. I saw a different version of this from a few years back, but I've never see a review of this one in English so I'll post some pics.

Here is everything laid out.
From left to right: Heater, water, spoon, Potato Tuna salad, Chicken in sweet soy, sugar and mirin (basically teriyaki).
Bottom row: Mixed flavor rice with Japanese chestnuts, Miso soup, and towel.

Here is the Tuna potato salad. I was skeptical about heating this up but it was awesome. The carrots and potatoes were soft, and there was just a hint of tuna taste. It was very sweet and creamy

This is the chicken. The broth was slightly sweet and had just a little bit of oil from the dark-meat chicken. It didn't look or taste like canned chicken really. It was extremely soft and light.

Next is the rice. It has soy sauce, chestnuts, soy beans, shiitake mushrooms, and several other flavorings.

And here is the miso soup. I was surprised that this was the least flavorful part of the meal. It wasn't that salty, and the miso flavor wasn't strong either.
The floating balls are roasted mochi, and the little clear strips are daikon radish. Here's a better shot of those 2.

It was all good. I highly suggest trying one if you get the chance.

Googling refers back to another post in 2016 on our fair forum.

I've never seen anybody that sells them on eBay on a regular basis, but they do pop up from time to time.

Being raised in a Japanese/German/Polish household, I am familiar with everything in this ration and it looks spot on. Portions don't jibe with my American sensibilities though. I was laughed at by some Europeans last year when they saw me drinking coffee out of my 20oz YETI tumbler while they sipped their espresso from thimbles.
