That's normal in civillian ready to eat foods. It's mostly used to cover the limited use of ingredients and for conservation reasons. Vegetables and such are quite expensive compared to pasta like ingrediënts. That is why they use salt as an flavour enhancer. Military rations use better ingredients, but therefore also cost more money. Military rations are (besides of conservants in the older ones) far healthier then civillian ready to eat meals.
There is nothing wrong with salt though, you actually need salt a lot. Especially with warmer weather because of transpiration. Just make sure that you don't eat to much of it. It might cause things like a high bloodpressure.
If you are heavy, watch out with salt, because a lot of salt might have an impact then. If not, the only reason not to eat it is your own likings. I actually like salty food, but only added salt, not in meals themselves.
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
