I was very interested after my first review of halal MRE if I will find the same good taste in another menu
The content has the same pattern as the previous one and is different from regular MRE by:
- no warm drinks
- no bread/crackers/spreads
- more snacks
The snacks are different, most of them savoury, quite appetizing. Unfortunately all of them were not good - kind of masty, old fat taste. The snack bags had BB date of Sep 2015. The ration was packed in 2014, so they are less resistant then the rest of the ration. Maybe due to storage conditions, which I don't know.
The main dish was really good - little spicy, wiht Arabic spices, good chunks of chicken breast, vegetables. I didn't need to use neither salt nor pepper.
The desserts were fantastic - both - the cinnamon cookies and the vanilla pudding - no signs of aging. The cookies not too sweet, contain vitamin B.
The drink was ok, not too sweet , but with artificial smell and taste. There are 2 packs of sugar in the ration - I cannot find any use for them - maybe to sweet the drink ?

It seems that all the halal meals have pudding and lots of snacks. Maybe that's how MidEastern people eat. Could be. I'd probably just dump them all together into one big snack mix.
Halal and Humanitarian meals aren't meant to survive storage for long. They have a lot less preservatives and are meant to be consumed within a short time after production.

Thanks RockyRaab, Stickyfingaz also mentioned that they have less preservatives and it seems to be proved by the experience .RockyRaab wrote:It seems that all the halal meals have pudding and lots of snacks. Great review! With these meals I gotta say,
Halal on the plate, haram best by date!
I wonder if any come with Kosher salt?
