Post by Zackattack6644 » Wed Aug 02, 2017 11:50 pm

Hey guys

I recently picked up an rcw off of eBay and I hope to review it soon.

But I need your guys help, leave a result in the poll if you can so I get an idea of what you guys want to see with it.

It all depends on the age, manufacturer, menu type and overall quality of the ration. Those RCW's are a relic and represent perhaps the best 24hr ration the US has ever made. Thus, they should be reviewed properly. It would be a grievous sin to just eat the thing and toss it without chronicling the experience somehow.

So I was blessed with getting this gem in the mail from my good buddy and there's no other thing to do other than document this rare 1 year production ration. They are probably one of the more rare and definitely most desirable US rations especially that are still edible. It's great to document the different conditions of all that end up in our community for future members. It's good to get as much of the back story from each ration you review. Like how long the person had it, where they got it, how they stored it, and if it was directly issued to them. Like I asked the guy on ebay about the one I assume you got. When the auction first popped up I asked to find out its condition and how he stored it. He was issued that rcw back in the early 90s he said. So ultimately my answer is hands down review it.

This will be my first RCW review that I attempt once I'm back in good enough shape to film again.

I hit it big a few weeks ago when I went to the estate sale of a military collector. Unfortunately by the time I got there most of the stuff was ransacked by the local Boy Scout troop lol. They said the little guys grabbed all the field equipment mess kits, trays and cups.
All that was left was a few boxes of misc uniform components and a box of some really beat up rations.

I managed to find an RCW in there! At first it was only the B component because there was no tape. After asking around I managed to find the first part. I feel kinda bad about the price. I should have given more but I have them all heir offer of $30 a piece.

Zack

PS I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures.
What menu is it?

Hey guys

I bought this on eBay and I'll be honest was a little embarrassed in how much I paid for it. That is why I told you guys that back story that wasn't true.

You paid $272 on ebay for that Zach. You aren't fooling anyone here with that.

Waiting for pictures on the treasures you've managed to defile.
