I had initially guessed most of that sellers stuff would be pretty in date! Those UGR items do tend to suffer from taste deterioration as they age too... The 2012 dates sausages themselves look ok, but that brine looks totally unappealing, and from your description of the taste as, "plastic-y and oily" I would probably sacrifice these to the trash.

The sausages are basically pork rib in turd form. They are good for what they are.

Yeah, I'm not dissing the seller here at all. The eggs tasted great with a 2012 prod date and the maple cake had no flaws. Seeing as these trays are rock hard plastic I can imagine the taste coming thru into a liquid over time. Any liquid.
