Veggie Taco Pasta TOTM

Post by RockyRaab » Fri May 29, 2015 6:31 pm

Broke out a Vegetarian Taco Pasta TOTM for my fishing lunch today. Forgot to check the production date, but it's certainly a 2014 meal. Package contained the entree, tortillas, peanut butter, drink mix, and a bag of M&Ms besides the usual acc pack and heater. The only thing that requires mention here is the entree, as everything else is well known.

The entree consists of crumbled "meat-like" bits of soy protein, a squiggly type of short pasta noodles and sauce. There's a definite but not overwhelming taco seasoning note, the noodles are the usual slightly overdone texture, and the soy crumbles add both texture and something like meat flavor. It isn't bad; I'd give it 3 out of 5. I added a small packet of hot sauce to suit my own taste, but many people would be happy with it straight, I suspect.

A TOTM is supposed to be a "reduced content" meal compared to a full MRE, but there's as much in one as in most commercial versions of MREs. Eating it all will definitely fill you up.
