FOOD PACKET SURVIVAL taste test

had a extra can that i desided to try out:

ca 1984-85 made
tryed the cornflake bar,and its jsut how i remembered them from when i was a kid!
nice crunch,sweet,cornflake taste. not any bad taste or smell the other
items was not tasted today but they where also in good shape.
soup base was also dry same with coffe and sugar not a big lump.

hope you ration friends enjoy my early xmas taste test. cheers ken

Wow!!!!!!! That review is great, very interesting :D ! Thanks for the detailed photos :D !! The Soup and Gravy Base is CHICKEN FLAVORED, those from the Accessory Packet B of early MREs was BEEF FLAVORED!

I have some from 1990's and the bars are different they are not flat.They are thick long rectangular bars ,2 oatmeal and 2 granola.they are good and very satisfying.
Also have the soup base and the coffee powders.
I wrote a review on them a while back. they are also made by the OLB...Oklahoma League of the Blind whic is now called "New View Oklahoma".they still make first aid kits, survival rations and other items for the U.S. military.
The new ones have six bars and other items like tea....

Great pics! I never seen the contents before.
BTW the biscuits are made by the Weetabix Co. Weetabix I think still is a UK company (Weetabix originally invented by an Aussie in 1930) and mass produced in the UK. I think thats another US ration labelling first. Never seen a non US co. as component suppliers in any ration. 8)
