I remember these from the late 90s, too. Had a little biography of Jimmy on the back of the packaging. I only remember them as being too salty, too processed, and too cold.
I was in a National Guard unit by then, and they kept the meals in the freezer at the armory for issue during admin drill weekends when we were in classrooms instead of the field. They never pulled them out early enough for them to thaw before we got them. Yuck.
