I'd say open it, but if you can get something out of it -- by all means, sell!

I vote open it as neatly as you can, document with pics, post here, then sell it if you wish!

I am about to open it and post extensive photos. Thankyou for giving me the excuse to open this baby! Then I'm putting it back in the pack and it will go back on my display.

Ok, here we go. The photos speak for themselves. Also, this is my first mugshot of me on here - had to do it sometime. I also took one of those old Dextro-amphetamine sulphate tablets about an hour ago and wow did it not lose one ounce of it's potency in the last 62 years!

Got those out of an old pilot's survival kit that came with a chocolate bar that I'll do a review on soon. I'm just a vile person, aren't I? What atrocities I do here shouldn't even be legal. I'll open and eat anything to do with rations if they look okay!

I'm always spending money on the obscure. This Accessory Packet cost me $50. Those Dextro's were probably $25... boy I'm getting my money's worth off those - I doubt I'll sleep for a month.

The 6 hundred thousand dollar question now is... should I smoke the cigs, drink the coffee, chew the gum, eat the tootsie roll, then blow my nose with the tissues?

You guys decide, and I'll do it.

-Steve

Here are the main photos of Mr. Accessory Packet.

Disclaimer: Do not do what I do, folks. It's dangerous, selfish, and really I am setting a bad example for everyone with the old things that I consume and "get away with".

The oldest thing I've ever eaten was a hershey's tropical bar from an old E-17 Pilot's Survival kit. While watching Waterworld (yes the one with Kevin Costner where he pees in a cup) of all things. Goes to show what kindof a sicko I am.

Took these just before I opened it.

I hope it wasn't the last one! Never saw this accessory packet in this condition before.

The guy I bought it from had 2 others he opened and just threw out (at least so he told me.. big mistake). So one day I saw him at the local flea market where I bought it and flicked gum in his ugly daughter's hair without them ever noticing. Heh. Told ya I was a vile person. I'm going to hell.

Cool pics! That's a Tootsie roll right? I wonder what cigarettes that old would smell / taste like?

Steve you're my new hero - and my new rival. I've smoked Camel's from a morale-edition K Ration (cut the waxed cardboard myself) so if you've gotten further back than 45 you've got me beat! I've never had the opportunity to try the go pills, although I would in a heartbeat

I vote you give the coffee a shot and include the cream and sugar! Did this pack come with 2 coffee, 2 cream, and 2 sugar? Or did you use other items from your collection to be able to show front/back together?

The ones I tried were pretty good to be honest. Tasted a little bit stale, as if they'd been lost for a few weeks in the car or something. Granted the ones I smoked were from a K Ration, so they were sealed in by wax. The paper accessory packet may not have kept the aging process at bay in quite the same way though.

I have tried Lucky Strikes from 1943, while refurbishing WW2 lifeboats, in 1969...

Not hermetically sealed, heat soaked in a rubber liferaft for 25 years..

Very dry, and burned like cannon fuse.. Nasty!

But Chinese cigs are worse, horse droppings come to mind!
