I agree Rocky, most artificial flavors are bordering grotesque to me - candies and drink mixes are far overpowering and sweet. And all the food coloring too..! For instance, you've got MRE fruit punch drink mixes .. ever see how badly that stuff stains white cups? I love the French RCIRs or even UK 24hr drink mixes - no coloring like here in the US. I have this feeling the govt wants our guys to be drinking what resembles Kool Aid from their childhoods. Is it intense in coloring to mask the tinfe color of treated water? Only purpose i can muster on that.RockyRaab wrote:That brings up a personal peeve of mine. Why in the Hellespont don't the artificial flavors cinnamon, banana, and watermelon (among others) taste ANYTHING like the real item? Who in the bleep tasted them and said, "That's ..."? Were they taste blind, deluded, or hallucinating?

Most of the food dyes that you see in US MRE's, especially in drinks, are actually banned in Europe. Those things are known to cause allergic reactions, hyperactivity and even cancer.steve1989 wrote:I agree Rocky, most artificial flavors are bordering grotesque to me - candies and drink mixes are far overpowering and sweet.
