If anyone is interested I have a surplus dealer near my house that sells the SPAM like survival tins like this for a few bucks. They are probably all dated mid-1990's and last time I looked they were all in very good condition. A real deal if you can find them. Though I haven't seen the newer cardboard ones in a very long time.

Hi guys,

now I will show some pics of the last bar-variant out of the FOOD PACKET SURVIVAL GENERAL PURPOSE, a GRANOLA BAR.

Opened pouch of GRANOLA BAR, front side made by STERLING FOODS, INC.:

Opened pouch of GRANOLA BAR, reverse side with date code 9020 (January 20, 1999):

Close-up of the GRANOLA BAR, the taste was okay, even so how a Granola Bar tastes. I ate it without the option of crumbling and rehydrating mentioned on the pouch:

Within a short time I will introduce the remaining constituents:

• WINTERGREEN TABLETS
• ICED TEA DRINK MIX
• INTSTANT CHICKEN FLAVORED BROTH

I have bought ten of that card-board FOOD PACKET SURVIVAL GENERAL PURPOSE at eBay Germany some months ago, I can’t remember the exact price, I guess it was about 40 EURO, that’s approximately 52 USD., I think that was a bargain buy :) .

Shame the broth did not get tried. Was the mix really rotten?

Simon, it is hard to describe the smell of the instant broth, nearly like ammonia/urine  ...,ick!! I do not think the smell was the same when it was fresh  !
