FSR Italian

Post by DangerousDave » Sun Apr 12, 2009 2:16 am

I rec'd order from Epicenter. I ordered several of all 4 different FSR pocket sandwiches. Date codes ranged from 8350 to 9014. Tryed the Italian. Smelled like MRE Spaghetti or Chili Mac. Could use a little more filling. The crust was somewhat like 2 wheat snack breads, mind-melded together, with the filling inside, but was more fluffier than snack breads. I give it a B+. 8)

DD,

Hey it looks like you beat me to the taste test. This afternoon I tried the FSR Italian Pocket Sandwich myself. I was pretty surprised by it. Mine is dated January 2009, so that's fresh! I too got it from the Epicenter.

Mine was very soft and I did notice a bit of Italian flavour in it but not much. Supposedly, another fourm member commented on the dryness of the bread. Not the case here, mine was only a little dry and I didn't need that juice much to wash it down. The bread itself was much more softer than Wheat Snack Bread, which blew me away. Usually WSB is a little more tough, in my mind. The only thing that could be wrong is the overall taste. I noticed a bit of Italian zing and when looking at the filling it looked more like sloppy joe filling. :?

Hey kman, is this similar to what you had some time ago? Any resemblance to the FSR's you just bought?

Wow - looks like you guys got your orders from The Epicenter at the same time I did. I got mine on Saturday but haven't had a chance to try any of the sandwiches yet - they might be lunch today.

That Italian sandwich review looks like sounds just like the sandwich I tried last year - the bread was a little bit better than wheat snack bread and there could have been more filling. So I'd probably give it a B+ also...but considering you can keep the sandwich around for a few years without refridgeration, that does add some appeal.

Treesuit, unfortunately, I haven't bought any FSRs yet - just the Italian sandwiches I scored a while back.

Guys,

For a better taste experience try to Honey BBQ sandwhich. I had that one and it fared better than the other two taste tests.
