2008 MRE Menu 1 review: CHILI WITH BEANS

Got my new mess tray from Amazon today and decided to do a review on this old MRE I have with a case date of 8284.. It has been in temps up to the 90's
I did use the heater it came with but did not heat up enough after 20 minutes. I had to nuke. Chili with beans was good in taste and same for corn . Grape jelly good and peanut butter along with fresh crispy crackers and Vanilla shake - tasted more into Banana shake. Pepper package was not hard and still had spice. I did not try the coffee though the Skittle's had some taste to desire. Maybe tasted like they were going bad and were or appeared somewhat melted from heat. Overall it was a good meal!

Hey man be careful with them shakes there was a recall with those for salmonella right around that time I'm pretty sure 2008 was included

Yep, nobody has been known to get sick from them though. I still don't drink them, not worth the chance.
