Thanks for the review. I guess after 26 years some of the items are starting to go bad and that after taste you were talking about also. Only if you ate the entire meal would you find out if it was still good. Your a brave man and I was worried just eating a 2008 MRE. At my age it seems I visit that Dr. a lot more than before and dont want an MRE to have to make another appt. Do you know the temperature exposure of that MRE thru its life time? I just wonder if you kept an MRE refrigerated lets say 40° for 30 years - and compared to another with hotter temps: would there be a big difference in quality and taste. Once Again - I enjoyed the review.

I didn't want to eat to much of this MRE. I had no idea how it was stored. We have some of our emergency rations store at 52 degrees. Some of them are 2012 and newer. One day I will get around to trying one of our older ones.
