1995 mre dinner

here is a 1995 mre that i eate today :D

That thing in the upper-left corner is a pound cake? It kind of looks like one of those compressed meal bars found in the RCWs or survival rations.

its a oatmeal block,and this 95 mre didnt have
jelly but chesespread instead,yumi

Cool - that cheese spread looks like it held up pretty well over the years. Yum...12 year old cheese!

I also though the pound cake was a survival food block, something like the "pemican block" in the old French survival rations.

The cheese didn't turn brown at least.
The bad point with the ration cheese is that as old it can be, it will never turn into something like an good oud Gouda (old Gouda cheese) :lol:

Ughh! I hate those Charms candies. The ones in MRE's always had that white, gummy coat no matter how fresh they were.

Sticky fingers, those damn cellophane wrapppers sticking to everything...

Worst field ration candy, ever.

the charms was good, no sticky fingers
by the way my wife ate the charms and
was happy wih the taste she said it was chrunchy
and fruity :D and i better trust her :lol:

yeah same here, i offered charms to friends and they really liked it, they didnt know charms come from a field ration
