Today we'll be looking at US MRE Menu #21 - "Tuna, Chunk Light, Water Packed, Lemon Pepper"

The main was....okay-ish. It's regular old Starkist bagged tuna, but with a pretty strong lemon flavor to it. Not the worst tuna I've had, but not really the best either. It was edible. Mixing in some of the mayo that came with the MRE didn't really help either, it still tasted the same. I like tuna, but not when it tastes like lemons.

The sides however, were lovely. The "corn nuggets" were just as Steve said: really crunchy, and taste pretty much exactly like Fritos. Then we've got the Lemon Poppyseed cake, which tastes just about exactly like a sugar cookie, just in a soft cake form. Always lovely. There was also a "chocolate peanut spread" included in the MRE, but nothing to really spread it on, unless you want to put all the tuna on a single tortilla and use the second one for the spread. It tasted pretty bland. The flavor was closer to peanut butter, but with a very dull and slightly bitter chocolate flavor. Not bad, but not very good either.

A bit lightweight compared to other MREs, and the main is kinda meh-tasting, but overall still okay.

I agree with you on the flavored tuna packs. I am a fan of tuna fish but I am not a fan of this new trend of flavored tuna packs. The only flavor I have somewhat tolerated is the BBQ but I would still prefer to just have regular tuna. The tuna MRE used to come with a regular tuna pouch and a season packet which was great because then you could season to taste.

I actually really liked the lemon tuna.

I kind of thought of the whole meal like a lunch my mom would pack me. Everything kind of didn't go together, but tasted ok.

I ate this one about 2 weeks ago, it had tortillas and something called "fat free mayonnaise" which was downright horrible to see and contemplate what it could be.

I dumped the tuna, FFM and the cheese spread, (plain one) into a tortilla and wolfed it down. @ of them in fact.

I have to say, pretty good. The tuna flavor is very lively and good.

Had pretzel bites and a choco 1st strike bar with it. Both good.

Accessory pack was skinny, no coffee or drink, except for the Aspartame loaded water flavoring which I cannot put in my body without very negative reactions.
