US MRE Menu #15 - Mexican Style Chicken Stew

Bought another case of MREs, so I've got more menus to review. This time we've got Menu #15: Mexican Style Chicken Stew.

The main was quite lovely. It was chicken and some vegetables (corn, green chilis and onions, according to the ingredients) in a tomato sauce. Was a bit worried about the flavor since I don't really like onions, but it tasted fine. I actually forgot to put in the crushed red pepper, since I was enjoying the flavor so much, heh.

The pears were nice as well. Admittedly, I've never eaten a pear before, so this was a new experience for me. Tasted kinda like an apple, but not as sweet. Decent enough. The "cheese filled cracker" was just Combos, specifically the Pizza flavor. These things were awesome. Lastly, the "vegetable crackers" were...kinda strange. Eating them plain, they literally tasted like canned chicken soup. Seriously, they did. The aftertaste immediately reminded me of Campbell's. Other than that they didn't taste much different from the normal MRE cracker. The jalapeno cheese spread was a little spicier than when I've had it in other rations.

Drink mixes were the same as usual. The cocoa tasted just like any other instant cocoa mix, and the Raspberry drink mix tasted like cough medicine.

Overall a very solid MRE. Really filling too, I couldn't eat it all at once, like I can with most MREs. Would definitely go for this one again.
