US MRE Review Menu 6 Beef Taco (2014) [Illustrated]
While I always go into these reviews with no reservations, sometimes, it bites you in the ass! I had expected, like with most US MREs, that the beef would be tasteful and that the items within would complement each other. Sadly this is not the case!
Lets start with the Fruit!
While the dates are good and there is no damage to the package, this fruit turned gray, lacking color and taste. Turned to mush in my mouth!Next, the Combos!
These things were tasteless, to be nice about it. I have never had an issue with Combos in a MRE till today. They tasted just like crunchy, dull, empty, stale bread.Tortillas, you're up!
I've honestly got nothing bad to say about these. They unfolded right and did not break.Up next, PB&J!
These tasted and looked well. I just could NOT get the connection of why they were in with Taco Beef and or why there was no bread for them.Ah yes, Taco Beef... WTF man?!
Looks good, doesn't really have a smell (odd I know). I thought to myself, Sloppy Joe Meets Taco Spice? Nope, WRONG! Looks like sloppy Joe Mix, but tasted like grease and stale bread. Even after adding the Seasoning pack and salt, nothing helped.
