Menu 11 Vegetable Lasagna(2013)

Post by Alexander » Thu Jul 21, 2016 5:16 am

Yesterday i bought several MRE's, and i thought: why not trying to write a review about one mre. The pictures where made with the camera of my Iphone. And this the first time in my life i write a review about a product, and also the first time i write it in full English(sorry for my bad english)
Menu 11 Vegetable Lasagna made in 2013, is the menu i tried.

Content on the first picture:
- Accessory Packet B
- Crackers
- Oatmeal Cookie
- Toffee Chocolate candy
- Applesauce
- Pepper Sauce
- Chunky Peanut Butter

Content on the second picture:
- Flameless ration heater
- French vanilla cappuccino
- Vegetable Lasagna
- Spoon

Since it was hot that day, i saved the Lasagna for the evening.
First i started with the Toffee Chocolate and the Raspberry drink powder.

The drink was perfect! Nice color, it smells good and the taste is perfect!
My mother saw the Toffee Chocolate package, and she wanted to try one. Time to try the Toffee.

There where 5 pieces in the pack, and all 5 were taken after i was finished with taking pictures ;-).
The texture is the same as other toffee i had a several times before. The taste is perfect. You can really taste the chocolate!

After a delicious drink and delicious candy it was time for a Oatmeal cookie.

The taste was pretty good. It tasted like a dutch cookie called "Speculaas". The taste of cinnamon was certainly present in the cookie.

Eventually it was time for the main meal. Vegetable Lasagna

There was not much taste, the only thing i tasted where some spices.
Then i discovered the magic of the added Pepper Sauce!
IMG_5784.JPG
It fixed everything! Very nice spicy taste! I love it! And suddenly the Lasagna tasted perfect!

After a spicy meal it was time for the desert.

The color, the texture and the taste were the same as apple sauce in a jar(Which you can buy in the supermarket). After all not bad!

The French vanilla cappuccino was saved for this morning.

The only thing i tasted was vanilla, and a little bit creamer.
Those two ingrediènts together made it, in my opinion to sweet.

After all: Would i buy and eat this MRE again? Yes i will!

(Any kind of feedback about the review is more then welcome!)

Note: The crackers tasted as always pretty nice. And the peanut butter was delicious! (i forgot to make a picture of both items)

I never had those raspberry drinks before, maybe it is time to open a veggie MRE after all :)

Nevertheless, thanks for the review. Is that a price tag on the outside of the outer bag? 9.95 EUR sounds like a reasonable price.

It is indeed a price tag. The cost of the mre's at that store are 9,95 EUR. And that is a way lot cheaper then mre's i can find on the dutch ebay (marktplaats)

That was a very good review. And your English is just as good. We look forward to many more such reviews.

It is great to find a European who likes hot sauce. While not rare, it is uncommon, just due to cultural differences. MREs are pretty bland without them.
