Bright Springtime weather here in Virginia. The river banks are turning green
Saw many turtles sunning their backs and eagles fishing. Great day to be outside.
But in the end it's all about the food :D

I tried this combination yesterday
Pinto Stew with Ham and Mexican Style corn, plus the snack bread on the side

Used the old Yugo mess kit as it was a day trip and I wanted to pack tight. Worked out perfect for such as task
I cooked both on the German Esbit with red box fuel tabs boil in the bag style and then used the plastic bowl.First I thought the ham and Pintos had a good strong flavor of Cumin or Cominos spices. It was fine right out of the pouch. The chunks of ham were diced up in sections of about 3/8's of an inch. I added a pouch of Mexican style corn that also had the Doritos type taco smell and cumin spice taste. There were little bits of red bell peppers diced up. I also heated up a slice of the white snack bread to finish off the set. Good filling outside meal. This MRE would be a good lunch or Supper, but terrible for breakfast
Now the mix of Cappachino, Instant coffee, creamer and sugar plus British Chocolate Bar and Fruit Biscuits could work in a pinch.
The Bar was far less sweet than Made in USA Bars nor the Delicious 'Milka' brand German Chocolate Housil so kindly sent me. It had a strong Coco flavor. Also tried some British army Fruit biscuits, they were very dense and solid. I did not detect any fruit flavor, rather a Ginger taste. They would be good for breakfast, with oatmeal or other European porridge. If you smeared Jam on them it would give you a half decent stand alone breakfast (With hot coffee or tea)
