today I opened a MRE CHERRY NUT CAKE with DATE OF PACK 1983. The outer cardboard was unfortunately missing, but the date code of the inner pouch said 3174, so it was packed 23 June 1983, nearly 27 years old when opened!

The taste was awesome, no difference between my memories as I ate many of those a long time ago: Moist and juice and very tasty, representative NUT CAKE
