Has anyone tried tried the Maple Sausage MRE? I believe its menu 4. Looks like an interesting meal pack.

Not me. I haven't seen any of the new 2009 items yet. Unfortunately, it usually takes me until about July-September before I can score a case of the newest MREs.

I've seen some of the newer entrees are now available at some of our favorite online MRE stores:

The Epicenter - http://theepicenter.com/mre_military_me ... o_eat.html
and
BePrepared.com - http://beprepared.com/

They also have the Beef Brisket and Buffalo Chicken entrees. Time for an order!

How ironic that something that could resemble "4 fingers of death" would be Menu #4

I just ordered some of the maple sausage, brisket, buffalo chicken and the bacon cheddar FSR sammiches from the epicenter. I will post the details if no one beats me to it.

Mr. Eman,

Yeah if you get some post the results here. And from personel experiences the FSR pocket sandwhiches are good and addictive at least in my mind. :P

Just got my order in gang. Here's 1 of each:

Heres the Maple sausage. Not links, but a patty itself, and surprise, surprise, its just like the rib entree. Comes in at 3.5 oz. WTF, is it with tasty pork entrees, being reduced to snack size sides? Will get a taste review up by the morning

The solid meat entree items (i.e. those without gravy or sauce) have generally been in the 3-4oz range and are usually coupled with a side dish item as part of the entree. The 8oz entrees are generally mixed with sauce and other ingredients (veggies, and/or starch.)

Shhhhhhh, I was hoping for a pork conspiracy

Ok gang, I got to eat one this morning. This entree is basically the pork rib, same texture and taste, except with just a hint of maple flavor. I found there was more maple flavor in the gravy, than in the patty itself. All in all, not too bad, and if you liked the rib then you'd probably do ok with this, as long as you like maple  Old MRE enrees don't disappear. They just come back with a new name.
