work has been offering a lot of overtime lately so i loaded up two walmart bags full of mre extras i had at home for late night snacks. so tonight i had pork chop, chunked and formed, in jamaican style sauce with noodles. dated 3065 and a wheat bread. i have been eating them cold at work due to the long walk to nuke it, having to wash out a bowl, so i tried this one tonight and it was great. typical chopped and formed meat but really tasty i would like to get some more of that one. was spiced just right. not expected from an mre.

I like that Jamaican Pork Chop - I have a case of them - and usually them cold/at room temperature. The meat can be a little dry sometimes unless you get it mixed in well with the noodles. But overall, it was a great entree.

I had a 2003 for todays dinner too.

The sweet apples that come with the pork is a perfect combination! The apple slice come in a creamy "sauce". Not ordenary apple pieces!

maybe a stupid question, but those apples .. (pears in my case..) are they to be served hot, cold, as an dessert or as an part of the entree.. You add it to an "side" thing to an entree, seems nice, but is it ment to.. or is it more like the german obstsalat as an "snack" or dessert?

Do pears tastes nice when warm? (we have special cooking pears, but don't know if those are the same didn't open it yet)

The meat part looks nice btw, but the sauce and noodles don't look to great in my eyes.. (canned food never does.. actually ) but I trust you guys that it tastes good. What does "jamaican" taste like.. sweet? spicy? both?

There are no stupid question - just stipd answers... (German saying)

I had them cold with the entree as a side. But you can have them as a dessert too. As you like it...

To my opinion, both.

I recently got a whole load of MRE parts, but no jamaican with pork chops..
The Dutch Military uses american MREs aswell since about a year now, besides our own rations. I believe it's an (muster > translated to english) test from Sopakco, just "small" numbers of MREs ordered by our military (small in military terms)

Warm up those spiced apples, and put on a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream...
