1982 and 1992 Cherry nut cake

Post by norge » Tue Mar 23, 2021 3:20 pm

Today we did a side by side Cherry Nut Cake test of a 1982 and 1992 cake :D
big difference in cherry bits and nut content, the 82 had more cherry and nut bits, the 92 cake was sweeter and had less visible cherry bits.
But they was just like they left the factory yeasterday yumi :D

Ken I am so jealous! You know those nut cakes are my favorite. I actually bought a butt load of them of eBay recently (1982 dates mostly) and almost all of them were good.

1982 and not rancid?! Wow. The oldest I had was "just" 32 years old and still great in taste.

Not rancid at al, havent found realy much rancid nuts in cakes or brownies in al these years :D
the nuts are just a bit dark in the 1982 cake but no bad taste or anything.

not bad for being a 39 year old cake

cheers ken
