2002 #14 pasta in Alfredo Sauce

Last weekend we had a military camp, a small one with limited participants only.

Due to the heat, no tents needed, just a cot and a "EBNS" against the insects and most important, jerry can with water

I decided a #14 pasta with Alfredo sauce

What I thought was a "2012"

was a 2002 - green main entree pouch and there wasn´t a Alfredo Sauce Pasta in 2012.
Long story short, the main had a slightly "sour" taste, three of us gave it a try so I better dumped it.
18 years and out of a grab box killed that entree. All other components were still great and edible.

Cool review with that mermite container. That thing looks like it really does the trick keeping things chilled with that big rubber gasket.

That pasta w/ alfredo having the heavy dairy in it - not really built to last. And considering how you keep everything perfectly stored, that is telling to it's overall shelf stability, or lack thereof. Got two of them and never was too keen on digging into one for that very reason. Old dairy is a real crapshoot and the MRE has to be perfectly stored from start to finish.

Yeah I love my Mermite. I don’t use it much anymore but I smile every time I look at its total utilitarianism when I’m in the basement
