Potato sticks vs nut raisin mix

As I ran out of munchies, I grabbed some from my MRE stacks 
5152 - were rancid... 
while the 4348 were still OK!
Both are aprox. equal in fat but the nut mix has an oxygen absorber but not the potato sticks.
