MCW at Bastogne Nuts weekend 2019

Post by housil » Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:38 pm

Every year we go to see the "Nuts weekend at Bastogne (see also Band of Brother episode 5/6)

They have camps at the former battlefields in the Ardennes, an Airfield, lot´s of reenactors, trucks, Jeeps, tanks...

So while traveling from one event to the next, we had lunch "somewhere". Too bad we had storm, rain and just 4°C (40F) so I decided to "cook" lunch in my trunk

I brought my new Jetboil (I got from Kyle) with me

and a MCW Lasagne

For better eating and taking picture, I reconstituted it in the Jetboil pot, not in the pouch

Love the tanks/panzers!
All the best, Gents.

- I'm also making videos mainly for my own enjoyment, but hey, maybe you might want to check them out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4-9gp ... C1dSyPX0w/

Cool video housil! Just curious, did that panther tank have the zimmerit anti-magnetic mine paste application on the turret? It looks like it has it simulated.

Zimmerit was a paste that the German army applied to tanks during WW2 to prevent magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking to the tank. Photos of tanks from then usually show it as a plaster-like coating.

I´m familiar with "Zimmerit", but don´t know if this was real "Zimmerit" or just simulated. Thought that was your question.
