US MRE 2014 Menu# 19 Beef Patty, Jalapeno Pepper Jack

The granola is great! Freeze Dry of Oregon, the producer of the US Military's freeze dried rations and components. Is also the producer of Mountain House backpacker freeze dried meals. You can get the same granola under that brand name. In much larger portions. From two serving pouches to number 10 cans.

Yes that granola was great in the Maple Sausage Patty MRE! The UK Museli is the best I've had thus far, but I have 2 French RCIR's coming in the mail and hope to see if there's is as good as I've heard.shawker71 wrote:The IMP hamburger is just delicious. 2 pattys in it and they are flavorful. Add a little of the juice to the bun and it really picks it up. The bean salad that comes with it really shines.
BTemple is really correct on the muffin top....one of the oddest flavors/textures out there. I also love the granola w/blueberries and milk (i had it again today with the maple sausage).

You can buy a lot of the Mountain House stuff here at places like Canadian Tire, but it's amazingly expensive. Most pouches go for $12.99.rabidwolf wrote:The granola is great! I wonder what the shelf life is on that granola since it has powdered milk in it?

Not entirely sure. But I know Steve1989 has a 5-year rule about it. It can go bad fairly quickly.shawker71 wrote:I wonder what the shelf life is on that granola since it has powdered milk in it?

I usually get mine from a guy in Quebec named Dominic. Not sure where he gets them from.

$12.99? Is that at least the 2 - 2.5 serving pouches? That price is almost double what they go for in most stores around here. I believe even Amazon is cheaperBTemple wrote:You can buy a lot of the Mountain House stuff here at places like Canadian Tire, but it's amazingly expensive. Yes it's the 2.5 serving pouch. I wish commercial MRE's were available in Canadian camping and supply stores, there's a big demand and i'm sure they will be very popular.

One of the Outdoor/Hunting stores here in Newfoundland does happen to sell MRE-Star rations, which aren't too bad. They happen to have some entrees that are different from what MRE's usually have.
