After 18 years, who knows what conditions such as temperature changes could have affected yours.

I guess that´s the key - 18years. That T-18 was old enough to drive a car (over here)

It was not spoiled, just darkend and bad in taste. I store all my rations in a dark, well tempered basement at permanant 12-18°C (53-65F) but well, 18 years are 18 years...
