Menu #22 Asian Style Beef Strips w/ vegetables
Overall this menu was pretty good. The main course was like something that came out of the microwave. I should have added some salt, but this was an oversight on my part; however, eaten as is wasn't too bad. The Wheat Snack bread was pretty bland on its own. It needed the blackberry jelly and chunky peanut butter that came with it. The jelly was good, but the peanut butter was very thick and hard to spread around. The taste was like generic peanut butter. The pears were pretty good. I may have made a mistake with them however. I put them in with the main course in the FRH. They came out like a hot dessert. I'm not sure if this is proper but they were just fine. The meal also came with a coa coa. I guess it was okay, but I don't really like coa coa so I'm not the one to make a judgement. The only thing I'm really disappointed about is that the meal didn't come with rice.

I had that 2 weeks ago, that was the first thing I noticed, no rice.
They're seriously missing a trick there.
Even in a British ORP rice is ALWAYS included with Indian or Thai type meals, either on its own or mixed in the bag, Indian food is very popular with British troops, Buryani, Korma, Jalfrezi, Balti are the top ones, probably a legacy from the days of the British Empire and no bad thing too.
We would love to see more Chinese and Thai menus in our ORPs

Re: Menu #22 Asian Style Beef Strips w/ vegetables
I just ate this recently and was too lazy to write a review. I liked the bread, it was puffy and dense at the same time. Interesting tactile experience just to pick up and touch. I agree about the main course, it needed rice or noodles big time. It's basically that cheap canned chow mein with the blue label we've all seen almost no one buy since the 80's.
If anyone's wondering why it's called chow mein but there's no noodles, there's a difference on the east & west coast of the U.S. In florida if I wanted noodles I had to order lo mein, in CA it's chow mein. Not sure which is indigenously accurate among the Chinese. Perhaps there's a regional difference in China as well? We've seen rice in other MRE's, not sure why they can't pull it off here. If anything, it justifies the MRE crackers for once. Crumble them in.-

This reminds me of my beloved Beef Teriyaki, which was ditched in 2005 according to the menus page.
Had a separate packet of chow mein noodles (more like crackers) that just made it perfect when mixed in with the main.
