Bridgford Foods Naan

Post by gundog4314 » Mon Oct 22, 2018 7:56 pm

Hey all,

Not necessarily an MRE review but a neat potential component. Naan leavened flat bread, I happen to love the stuff whenever I am eating ethnic cuisine from the middle east, asia and india. I tried it right out of the packet, 20 seconds in the microwave and then in the toaster....instead of the toaster I should have tossed it right on the stove top on an open flame to toast it and get that nice char, but hindsight is 20/20 as they say. Here's some pics. One of the ingredients really caught me off guard for Naan though!

Cheers

I bought a bunch of these from custommre.com awhile back. Tasty. Where did you get these? I tried their site a few times this week, but doesn't seem to be up and running now.

Tried the Chrome browser and it popped up, but as mrenation.com. Was a kid in a candy store, literally!! Lots of French, British, Russian single entrees and components. Worth a browse.

Yeah, custom mre and the rations produced by blackdog surplus have been kinda merged into MRE Nation, and you are right there is a ton of stuff on it. https://mrenation.com/

Very cool, gundog, thanks for sharing. I always look forward to Naan when we go out for Indian food.

Nice little piece of bread! This could go quite nice with some foods instead of tortillas or other snacks... I hope it makes into some rations, i'd love to try it, definitelly, toasting it seems the way to go
I have Spanish rations permanently, feel free to ask :!:

Just wanted to point out that naan makes awesome personal sized pizza crust, pre-seasoned with italian seasoning can be turned in to a good thing on a budget.

It does make an exceptional pizza crust but from what i have paid here, premade naan isnt budget friendly. I typically see $6-$8 for a 3 pack (not the mre stable naan gundog has)

But i can imagine in other parts of the world (India, etc.) it is dirt cheap and peoples main bread option... just dont buy in Connecticut USA :P

Id love to have one of those tiffin lunch stacks that are everyday common over in India, looks delicous
