CCC

Post by Rogue187 » Wed Jun 06, 2007 8:43 pm

Well Guys,

I had a lunch of the infamous CCC.

My first impression is that it wasn't bad..but as I continued to eat it I did notice the weird bits of veggies in there..
The taste at first is of the curry that is overwhelming.

I have a saying around here..that curry will hide the taste of the most foul food items.
If the meat is spoiled and you cook it in curry then you cannot tell the meat is spoiled..
I learned to never eat curry at but a few resturants...those that I go to all the time..I know how the stuff is freshly made..

But I digress..
Back to the CCC..It would do in a pinch and if I was really starving..
Otherwise, I'll pass the next time I get that entree.
The chicken was acceptable but something in the sauce just didn't add to the taste overall but kinda detracted..
I'm still trying to figure out what...
The potatoes were acceptable as was the crackers and peanut butter..
I haven't touched the toaster pastry..
The accessory pack did have a hot sauce..I didn't use it..

For this meal from a scale of 1 to 10.. I give it a 5 Average.

The issue you describe with CCC is exactly what bothers me, too - something in it just doesn't taste right to me. And after a few CCCs, I've determined (for me, at least) that this "someting" is the little almond bits in there. They're thin slivers of almonds and both the size and texture of them really throws me when I'm eating it. It almost tastes like there are little bones or bits of cardboard in there.

That's why CCC gets a big "yuck" from me.

Don't worry gentlemen, your case is not desperate: I was certainly the only guy in the French army who used to barter his cigarettes for a bully-beef can

I like CCC too...It's a good take on bhuna style curry...For me I think there is a smidge too much tumeric in the sauce...that's why it stains things yellow.

This weekend I had my first CCC and I have to say that it was really good (read: that I liked the taste of it). I'm considering to make it my favorite MRE menu. Putting the Pork rib in second place.

I also find the CCC okay (except for the acid it produces in my stomach.).
But my all time favorite MRE entree is still Chicken-A-La-King! It smelled bad, but tasted great.
BTW: Does this make me a sort of mentally sick person...?
