Thanks Nix, your words really mean a lot and I really appreciate it. I totally hear you about that first MRE experience..during late 1988 thru the middle of 1989 I was aboard MSO-438 USS Esteem in the Persian Gulf, and we were offered these brown bags as "mid rats" before going on watch from midnight until 4am. We were fascinated too and many guys hoarded their rations and brought them home after rotation. What a trip! Take care!

I would have been certain the chicken would not have made it, simply wild I dig those crackers though when I saw the picture and read the description I could taste the toastiness

It made it with flying colors and tasted excellent..not mushy, not too dry and really flakey. The whole meal was amazing.
