I didn't add any salt but it's certainly missing "something". I put some of the crushed red pepper on it but that stuff always seems to be too little or too much, no grey area. Haha
Be nice if they had real chefs design them
With all the preservatives they have to put in there I think even a chef would find it hard to create something that would be able to keep its flavour profile.

I found this one kind of middle-of-the-road as well. It was OK, and I'd eat it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to grab this one out of a case. The breadsticks are a nice change from the usual snack bread or crackers though.

Just had this MRE tonight. My main looked a bit soupier than yours, but I boiled mine. I thought the chicken and pasta bits were great, but I ended up discarding most of the sauce. The flavors in this MRE (including the breadsticks) were very strong!

What year was yours?
I've got a brand new 2017 one here now and I'm very curious if it being exceptionally fresh will make it better.

2014 like OP. The herb flavor tasted like some dry oregano i had in the cabinet uncovered for 3 years, so I'm guessing a fresher one would taste considerably better.
