Personally, Country Captain Chicken is one of my most hated MRE entrees. Yes, it can be tasty, but I just can't stand the little bits of almond they put in there. Get rid of those nasty almond bits and I'll be happy!

Those dates sound about right. If the parts were produced in late November and not used until late January or very early February, that wouldn't suprise me. They were probably finishing up the previous year's run and had to get rid of their extra stock.

I actually just finished trying my first British ration today for lunch (Pasta w/ Meatballs and Herb Chicken & Dumplings. Pretty good all in all...I took a bunch of pictures so I'll get those posted later today.

a few months back i got a bunch of mre items from different batches etc and there were some old stuff that are no longer in production which were pretty good. Too bad I didnt get a Country Captain Chicken.

You haven't truly experienced CCC until you've been stuck with it as a breakfast meal. Eat one at dawn some time.

You will need "the courage of early morning".

:( Like you said Kman, anything tastes good when you're hungry. I'm glad that Uncle got rid of that one. He still has the Cavatelli thing, which is much better. I have'nt checked the menu's lately, they did get rid of that nasty vegetables/alfredo sauce thing did'nt they?

Oh yeah, they got rid of Pasta Alfredo back in 2002. I didn't think it was all that bad...but then again, I also never had to eat it cold - that might not have been such a pleasant experience.
