Chili Mac Entree MRE

Post by fdsman » Sat Oct 11, 2008 8:54 pm

So, today I went to a not so local army surplus and picked up a Chili mac MRE. I gotta say our rations seem to keep getting better and better, Chili mac has got to be the best I've tasted so far, as well as the Raspberry Apple Sauce side dish, and the orange beverage mix. I have yet to try the fig bar, crackers, grape jelly, and instant coffee. When I do try all of it, I plan to have a video on my youtube account, same name as my username.

I had a Chili Mac for the first time last weekend and I must agree it was one of the best if not the best MRE I've had. I have one left and its definetly coming with me on my next backwoods trek.

Interesting changes have been made to the sure-pak chili mac MRE. Instead of raspberry apple sauce, it now comes with hashbrowns with bacon which I'm tasting as I type this.

I didn't really pay attention to the ingredients, but these are closer to country potatoes than hash browns and are extremely bland. But that was fixed with a little Louisiana hot sauce. Sure-Pak is now using the military drink mix (tropical fruit punch in this case) instead of the Sqwincher drink mix, and finally in addition to the crackers, an oatmeal cookie has been added.
